Michael Durant, who was captured as a prisoner of war after his Black Hawk helicopter was downed during fighting in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993, is coming to speak in Cary.

You remember his picture on the cover of Time magazine; you watched the news reports on CNN and saw the movie "Black Hawk Down." Now you can meet Durant, author of the New York Times bestseller "In the Company of Heroes," in person as he speaks of his incredible personal account at the American Red Cross 90th Anniversary Celebration Dinner.  The event will take place Saturday, June 23, at 6 p.m. at Colonial Baptist Curch in Cary. For address and ticket information call the Red Cross at 910-231-1602 or visit trianglearc.org. Also scheduled to perform is the 82nd Airborne Army Chorus.

Durant will convey how his conditions as prisoner of war improved with the intervention of the Red Cross. Using his military experience and accomplishments, he will motivate you and your company to new heights.
